Congressman Ted S. Yoho (R-FL-03) voted to spur economic growth, create jobs, and strengthen our national security by supporting H.R. 702 - the Adapt to Changing Crude Oil Market Conditions. The bill will remove all restrictions on the export of crude oil from the United States. Congressman Yoho issued the following statement after his vote:

"The United States is among the top producers of oil in the world. New technologies have enabled our domestic energy industry to produce more and cut our imports of foreign oil.

"Most of us who lived through the 1970's remember the long gas lines created by the Arab oil embargoes and domestic energy crisis. In response to that crisis, the US placed a ban on exporting domestic oil -- which today is harmful to our economy and the industry.

"Lifting the ban on exporting domestically produced oil is good for American consumers and our economy. It will increase investment, create jobs, and aid in making the United States more secure by creating greater stability in the global crude oil market. This is good for America."
